Rogue Valley Chorale

Since 1973 the Rogue Valley Chorale has been presenting the best in choral music to the residents of Southern Oregon. It offers seasonal concerts that celebrate a wide range of musical genres including classical, contemporary, Broadway, folk, spirituals and much more. April 28, 2013, marked our final concert with our beloved Artistic Director, Lynn Sjolund. Mr. Sjolund retired after serving as our conductor for 40 years. We are thrilled to begin our 2013/2014 season with our new Artistic Director, Laurie Anne Hunter. Please join us for another season of exceptional choral music.

Rogue Valley Symphony

The Rogue Valley Symphony, led by Music Director Martin Majkut, is the professional orchestra performing in the three major city centers of Southern Oregon: Ashland, Medford and Grants Pass. In a season, the Rogue Valley Symphony presents five Masterworks programs, three Summer Series performances, Holiday concerts in December and features renowned guest artists at our Symphony Showcase. Artistic excellence, music education and community engagement are at the forefront of the Symphony’s mission. Educational programs include the Chamber Players in the Classroom performing for more than 6000 students in Jackson, Josephine and Klamath Counties elementary schools and Carnegie Hall’s Link-Up program providing weekly music lessons for all 3rd grade students in the Phoenix/Talent school district. In addition, Students and adults are able to attend Grants Pass performances through a free student voucher program, Connecting with the Classics. Alive and Gorgeous, the sound of Symphony!

Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon

Founded in 1988, the mission of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon (YSSO) organization is to provide exceptional performance experiences under the leadership of professional conductors and music coaches and to foster a lifelong appreciation of classical music and the arts. The 2013-2014 season marks the organization’s 26th year of performing masterworks for orchestra. Concert Series performances feature the three ensembles of the YSSO organization — Youth Symphony, Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings. The Youth Symphony and Youth Orchestra include accomplished string, brass, woodwind and percussion musicians who present masterful performances of standard orchestral literature and concerti, as well as arrangements for preparatory orchestra. Youth Strings performs arrangements for young string players. Youth Symphony Concerto Competition winners are featured as soloists with the Youth Symphony each year. Audiences will be impressed by the interpretive, technical and performance skills of the musicians, as well as their commitment to excellence. Attend the inspiring concerts and be part of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon’s mission to engage hearts, hands and minds in the joy of classical music.

Rogue Opera

Rogue Opera was founded in 1976 by Dr. Ray Tumbleson, who envisioned a regional opera company that would produce high quality opera for regional audiences, and utilize local talent.Thirty-eight years later, that vision has proven a reality with over 1,000 Opera in the Schools and main stage productions; Rogue Opera has become a treasure in the arts community. Rogue Opera now presents high quality professional opera with national and international talent for our regional audiences, while continuing to create opportunity for young performers and local talent. Recent productions have garnered increasing critical acclaim and high reviews.
