It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird
A sultry summer in 1930s Alabama suddenly shifts for Scout, when her father, Atticus Finch, defends a black man unjustly accused of raping a white woman. Atticus’ courageous act unleashes the town’s wrath and endangers his family. Ultimately, the trial’s tragic aftermath causes a ripple of change in a country town locked in old ways—and has an indelible effect on a young girl’s understanding of right and wrong. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that, 50 years later, still prods our national moral conscience.
