About Next Stage
Next Stage is Craterian Performances’ adult acting company. Its mission is to explore, expand, and exalt the human spirit, and to engage, entertain and inspire audiences.
In order to fit within the Craterian’s busy event calendar, Next Stage produces small cast productions that tell great stories in simple settings. The company is also committed to making professional theater as accessible as possible for the entire community.
Spring of 2020, Craterian Performances’ Next Stage will produce the Broadway musical ‘[title of show]’. In this Tony Award-nominated musical comedy, two struggling writers hope to make their mark in the theater world by entering their yet-to-be-written musical in a New York City festival. With only three weeks to go and nothing but the help of a few well-meaning friends, the big question remains, what should their show be about? The answer soon becomes clear: they’ll write a musical about writing a musical. But even that simple idea soon proves daunting as they struggle to discover what exactly it is they want to say, even as they search for success that isn’t by-the-book. There’s something for everyone in this upbeat and offbeat show, filled with humor and wit, that one critic describes as a “love letter to musical theater.”
