• About Next Stage Repertory Company

Next Stage is Craterian Performances’ adult acting company under the artistic leadership of Doug Warner and the Craterian’s executive director, Stephen McCandless. Its mission is to explore, expand, and exalt the human spirit, and to engage, entertain and inspire audiences, through the professional staging of classic and new plays of artistic merit.

The company typically produces three shows per year, ranging from comedies to “high art” dramas, from classic titles to original works, and small scale musicals.

In order to fit within the Craterian’s busy event calendar, Next Stage produces small cast plays that tell great stories in simple settings. The company is also committed to making professional theater as accessible as possible for the entire community, and tickets are among the least expensive in the region.

  • Fall of 2017, Craterian Performances’ Next Stage Rep will produce Next to Normal, the “brave and breathtaking” Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical.  Described as “A contemporary musical that explores how one suburban household copes with crisis. With provocative lyrics and an electrifying score of more than 30 original songs, Next to Normal shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family’s world intact.”  Creative Team members include Stephen McCandless as Artistic Director, and Parthy McCandless as Director. If interested in auditioning, email cailey@craterian.org, and stay tuned for more information!
