About the Event

The accomplished musicians of the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon will perform at the Craterian Theater on Saturday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m.  The Youth Symphony will play Marche Slave by Piotr I. Tchaikovsky and The Composer is Dead, a work for orchestra and narrator, with music by Nathaniel Stookey and text by Lemony Snicket. The guest narrator is noted director and actor, Dennis Smith. The Youth Orchestra will play the Bacchanal from the opera “Samson & Delilah” by Camille Saint-Saëns (arr. Isaac), The Great Locomotive Chase by Robert Smith, and the Overture to Lucile by André-Earnest Modeste Grétry (arr. Barnes). The orchestras will be led by YSSO music director and conductor Cynthia Hutton, D.M.A.  Winter 2020 Concert Series Concert Partners are the Dunlap Silsby Family Foundation and the Joe and Frances Naumes Family Foundation.
