11th Annual GingerBread Jubilee Invites Design/Baking Contest Entries

“Imagineers” of all ages are invited to create architectural wonders and fantastical objects by using gingerbread and all-edible materials for this year’s GingerBread Jubilee, a benefit for the Craterian Theater in Medford. Contest is open to all interested bakers — individuals and groups, students, businesses, youth organizations, scout troops — anyone who loves the creative challenge of crafting with all-edible products. Entry deadline is Friday, November 1, and gingerbread creations must be delivered to the theater at 23 S. Central Ave., Medford, from 7 am – noon on Wednesday, November 20.
More than $3500 in cash prizes – including $1000 for Best in Show – will be awarded in multiple categories (adult, student, group) after judging. All gingerbread creations are sold at the GingerBread Jubilee auction on November 22 and are featured in the Community Tour that follows. Last year’s tour drew more than 2,500 visitors. Tour hours are 10 am to 6 pm Saturday through Monday, November 23-25, and admission is $3.

The GingerBread Jubilee is one of the Rogue Valley’s most unique benefit auctions and favorite holiday celebrations. Proceeds from the event make it possible for Craterian Performances (the nonprofit owner/operator of the theater) to bring national and international performing artists to Medford, produce outstanding shows by The Teen Musical Theater of Oregon and Next Stage Repertory Company and to provide the Craterian Theater stage as a one-of-a-kind resource for countless organizations and individuals in the community.
